ARP Wave Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation

One of the innovative therapies that we offer to help patients recover from musculoskeletal injuries is ARP (Accelerated Recovery Performance) Wave. ARP Wave uses bioelectric current to speed the healing process by stimulating circulation to the injured area and helping to break down stubborn scar tissue. Combined with active range-of-motion work and other rehab exercises, ARP Wave can significantly speed up the body’s natural recuperative ability, getting you back to your normal physical activities more quickly.

How Does the ARP Wave Work?

ARP therapy’s low-voltage electrical current helps to reduce inflammation and pain, and encourage your body’s own healing mechanisms. It also promotes muscle relaxation and recovery from fatigue.

What Should I Expect When I Come In for an ARP Wave Therapy Treatment?

Your ARP system sessions can be hard work and will require you to move, so wear loose clothes. We are going to be using ARP technology to search your body for the orgin of injury and hot spots. When the ARP is on one of these spots, it has found the electrical disruption that is the root cause of your problem. This process can in some cases be painful. We will ask you to rate the amount of pain so that we know where in the body the real problem is. Because the ARPwave sessions can be demanding, we will also ask that you make sure your body recovers properly. Typically, this means getting a good night’s sleep, eating healthy meals with adequate protein, and avoiding alcohol consumption. Depending on your situation, we may ask you to increase your protein consumption during treatments.
Where can I get more information on ARPwave?

ARP works on the principle that joint problems, tendonitis, tears, sprains, fractures, or repetitive task injuries are caused by muscles not properly absorbing force. This energy is transferred to tissue not intended to accept the force. We find the muscles that are incapable of doing their job and treat them to eliminate the cause. Most of the time, the symptom of pain or weakness will be resolved. We do not treat the specific bone fracture, joint problem, or tear, but treat the muscles so they can do their job supporting these areas. ARP is an acronym for Accelerated Recovery Performance.
